We’re exploring the idea of setting up a mentoring scheme within the DRN. The aim is to connect researchers at different career stages, giving early career researchers access to guidance while offering more experienced colleagues the opportunity to share their expertise and support the next generation.

Mentoring could cover areas such as career advice, navigating academia or policy roles, feedback on research and writing, or simply building professional confidence.

👉 Would you be interested in taking part, either as a mentor or a mentee?

If so, please let us know, we’d like to gauge interest before moving forward.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Why mentoring?

Many early career researchers benefit greatly from guidance as they navigate the challenges of academic and professional life. Likewise, experienced researchers often find that mentoring provides fresh perspectives and the chance to give back to the community. A mentoring relationship can:

·       Provide career advice and support for academic and non-academic pathways

·       Offer feedback on research, writing, and publication strategies

·       Help build confidence and professional networks

·       Encourage the exchange of ideas across disciplines and career stages
